Defining Units of Measurement

There will always be a white margin around the layout borders. This is
the area in which layers are displayed although they are outside the layout.

Defining Units of Measurement
Using the FILE | SYSTEM SETUP | SPECIAL UNITS function you can make
various settings for the units of measurement used in ORIS PDF Tuner.
This opens the SPECIAL UNITS SETUP dialog. See also Supported Units
and Their Abbreviations (page 32-12).
Special Unit
This parameter allows you to define an individual unit of measurement.
This unit is available under the name SPECIAL when selecting units from
a list.
Point Size
This parameter allows you to define the size of the unit POINT which is
available when selecting units from a list.
The Didot Point and Pica Point units, by contrast, are fixed values which
correspond to 1/12 of the Cicero or Pica value respectively.
Layout Display Unit
Use this parameter to define the unit to be used when displaying values
for a layout. This affects the
• STATUS window of layout functions
• Status bar at the bottom of the layout window
• Cursor position in the COLOR window (see page 30-21)
Image Display Unit
Use this parameter to define the unit to be used when displaying values
for an image. This affects the
• STATUS window of images and image overviews (see page 20-19)
• Information about images on a layout (see page 16-19)
• Cursor position in the COLOR window (see page 30-21)
