3. Select the color separations that should be enlarged or reduced, the
trap mode (choke, spread, or both) and the size of the trap area (see
below). Click the OFF button if you want to switch off trapping.

Separations
Use the check boxes to select the color separations you want to trap.
The separations with a check mark are increased (spread) or decreased
(choked), depending on the trapping mode. If the trapping mode is
CENTER, the selected separations are spread and the other separations
are choked.
Select AUTO CMYK if you want the program to determine the separations
automatically. However, this is only possible for tint, text and gradient
layers. When you close and reopen the dialog (for a single layer), the
separations determined by the program are indicated with a check mark.
Note:
The AUTO CMYK option has no effect on image layers, filter layers (see
page 15-1) or brushed layers (see page 10-5). Layers of this type are not
trapped if AUTO CMYK is enabled.
The AUTO CMYK option may not always provide optimum results, since
it does not take into account the colors of adjacent layers.
