Image Filter Functions
Pixelating Images
To do so, hold SHIFT and the mouse button pressed down and move
the mouse vertically. Or enter the value on the keyboard (direct input,
see page 29-7).
5. To end the function, click on the image or reselect NOISE.
6. You can compare the modified image with the original. To do so, use
the toggle function SHOW BEFORE or press F4.
Pixelating Images
The MOSAIC function allows you to pixelate images or image sections. It
can be used, for example, to make human faces unrecognizable.
Internally, this function divides the image into a grid of tiles. All pixels of
a tile are displayed in the same color. This is the color of a single image
pixel inside the grid cell. Thus the impression of a mosaic is created.

How to Pixelate Images
1. Open the image (see page 20-6).
Filters can only be applied if all pixels are loaded (see also
page 20-8).
2. If you only want to pixelate a particular image area, create or select
a restricting mask (see page 22-13).
3. Select IMAGE | FILTERS.
4. Select MOSAIC in the MENU window.
5. Hold SHIFT and the mouse button pressed down and move the
mouse upwards. Or enter the value on the keyboard (direct input).
As the values increase, the ‘tiles’ become larger and the image appears
increasingly pixelated. The unit of the specified value is pixels
on images and millimeters when using the function on a layout.
6. Using X-Y RATIO in the MENU window you can modify the shape of the
‘tiles’, i.e. the ration of width and height. You can specify values ranging
from 0 to 100%. Proceed as explained in step 5.
