Step 1 and 2 are not required directly after starting the transformation
function, i.e. if nothing has been selected yet on the TRANSFORMATIONS
toolbar.
1. Click into either of the X or Y input boxes.
2. Press RETURN/ENTER. Alternatively, CTRL-click
(Mac OS) or right-click (Windows) on the layout.
This removes the focus from the toolbar.
3. Press the arrow keys according to the direction into
which you want to move the active objects.
Each keystroke moves the object by one increment of the unit currently
selected in the toolbar. Additionally press the OPTION (Mac OS) or ALT
(Windows) key to move by 0.1 increment of the current unit.
Example
If the X unit is mm, press twice to move an object to the right by two
millimeters. Press OPTION+ (Mac OS) or ALT+ (Windows) twice to
move it downward by 0.2 millimeters.
The units for the X and Y direction may be different.
Moving and Positioning Paths
There is a special function which allows you to move and position paths
(in addition to the tools of the TRANSFORMATIONS toolbar).
1. Activate the paths (see page 8-1).
2. Select PATHS | EDIT | MOVE.
3. Drag the paths to the desired position.
Alternatively, enter the coordinate of the marked point directly on the
keyboard (direct input, see page 29-7).
4. Click on the layout to end the function. If the position is not correct,
SHIFT-click to reposition the paths.
