Distorting Objects Using 4 Points

• SHIFT-click on the desired position. The active point will ‘jump’ to
this place.
• Drag the point you want to the new position.
Hold the SHIFT key pressed down if you want to restrict the movement
to the horizontal or vertical direction.
• Use the arrow keys .
Each keystroke moves the object by one increment of the unit
currently selected in the toolbar (X/Y input box). Additionally
press the OPTION (Mac OS) or ALT (Windows) key to move by 0.1
increment of the current unit.
Distorting Objects Using 4 Points
Using the tool objects can be distorted perspectively using 4 points,
referred to as P1, P2, P3 and P4. The location of these points can be
modified by the user (see Specifying Points for Positioning/Distorting below).
Each point can have two states: locked ( ) or unlocked ( ).
Different transformations are achieved depending on the number of
points that are locked:

Transformation achieved
0 The object can be moved and positioned.
1 The object rotates about the locked point and may also
be scaled, if one of the unlocked points is moved.
2 or 3 If one of the unlocked points is moved, all other points
remain fixed and the object is distorted.
Note:
Distortions are not supported for Page EPS files positioned as images
on a layout.
