Rendering Intent (‘For...’)

Using ICC Color Management
Use this option to specify how colors are mapped from the SOFTPROOF
color space to the MONITOR color space. Refer to page 30-8 for details
on this parameter.

Use this parameter to specify the ICC profile characterizing the CMYK
color space of a layout. It is usually a good idea to work in the color
space of the output device, e.g. the printing process used for production.
Enter the path name of the profile or click or to open the ICC PRO-
FILES dialog (see page 30-9). The screen is updated immediately.
This profile is used, together with the MONITOR profile, for an accurate
on-screen color representation of tints, gradients and text on a layout.
Note that the settings under SOFTPROOF have no effect on layouts.
Rendering Intent (‘For...’)
Use this option to specify how colors are mapped from the OUTPUT
COLOR SPACE to the MONITOR color space. Refer to page 30-8 for details
on this parameter.
Default Input Color Space for Newly Loaded Images
Use these parameters to specify default ICC profiles defining the input
color space of images and the rendering intent. You can also define
whether to use these default profiles or embedded profiles when an image
is opened or whether the user should be requested to select one.
Note:
Having changed input profiles or rendering intents, image colors are only
updated when you close and reopen the image or layout.
The settings made here are only defaults. Having opened an image, you
can assign any ICC profile you like by selecting MODIFY ICC PROFILE in
the MENU window. See also ‘Modify ICC Profile’ Dialog (page 30-11).
Input Profile Selection Method
Use these parameters to define the way an input profile is selected or
assigned to images of a particular color system (RGB, CMYK or grayscale).
Select one of the following settings:
CHOOSE ON OPEN
Whenever you open an image you are prompted to specify which ICC
profile to use for images of the respective color system. This is also
