Creating Inclined Rectangles
Note: The values in the and box may be negative, depending on the order
in which the corner points were set and the position of the layout’s
origin point (top left or bottom left). See also page 31-6.
Rotating and Skewing Rectangles
Do one of the following to rotate or skew a rectangle:
• Use the rotation or skewing handle (see Fig. 7-2).
• Enter the rotation angle into the box.
Enter the skewing angle into the box.
Moving Rectangles
To move a rectangle, disable the NEW RECTANGLES option, position the
cursor anywhere on the layout but on a handle, then drag the rectangle
with the mouse button pressed down.
SHIFT-drag if the NEW RECTANGLES option is enabled. New rectangles will
be created if you do not hold the SHIFT key pressed down.
Creating Inclined Rectangles
Creating Grids
All types or rectangles can be created and edited in any possible way using
the Rectangle Editor. However, there is an additional function which
creates rectangles with an inclined baseline:
1. Select PATHS | INCLINED RECTANGLE.
2. Click on the layout to set the first corner point. Alternatively, enter the
point’s coordinate on the keyboard (direct input, see page 29-7).
3. Define the inclination of the rectangle.
To do so, click to set another point or enter the inclination angle.
4. Click to set the second corner point or enter the coordinate.
1. Select PATHS | GRID & LINES | GRID (straight) or INCLINED GRID.
Position the first corner point by clicking on the layout or enter the
point’s coordinate.
2. When creating inclined grids you must define the inclination.
To do so, click to set another point or enter the inclination angle.
