Using Images
Notes on Some Image Formats
in the EPS file, it is automatically used as a cut-out mask. In the case of
a Page EPS file the preview will be positioned.
Note:
Page EPS files positioned as images on a layout can only be modified
as a whole, i.e., it is not possible to change individual elements.

Importing EPS Files Using PostScript Interpreter
Using FILE | IMPORT PDF OR POSTSCRIPT ( +OPTION+I/CTRL+ALT+I)
(see page 2-1) you can convert the individual elements of a Page EPS
file into ORIS PDF Tuner format. Each element is turned into a layer
which can then be modified individually on the ORIS PDF Tuner layout.
Note:
If the Page EPS file is a DCS, however, only the preview will be extracted.
If such ORIS PDF Tuner layouts are converted to another format EX-
PORT function), the resulting documents will contain the preview. To output
the high-res data, the DCS must be positioned on the layout as an
image.
EPS and DCS Output
Creating EPS and DCS Images
To convert images into EPS or DCS format, select FILE | SAVE AS and
choose EPS, DCS from the FILE TYPE list. DCS format is not available for
RGB images. See also ‘EPS Options’ Dialog (page 20-14).
Image EPS files created by ORIS PDF Tuner can be opened in Photoshop
as high-resolution images and further modified with this program.
If a cut-out mask is stored in an EPS file, it can be used as a clipping
path. There may only be one mask per EPS file.
Converting Layouts to EPS or DCS Format
To convert ORIS PDF Tuner layouts into EPS or DCS format, select FILE
| EXPORT (see page 3-1). To create DCS files, use the DCS FORMAT parameter
on the PAGE tab of the EXPORT LAYOUT dialog (see page 3-1).
Note:
Page EPS files positioned as images on a layout can only be output on
PostScript or EPS final pages (not Flat PostScript).
