Modifying Linework Colors
color (i.e. make it active so that it is covered by a mask), select the
FILL TO function, select red as your CMYK COLOR and finally click anywhere
inside the man’s face. The next section explains this in detail.
How to Flood-Fill a Linework
1. Select the linework color which should limit
the area to be modified. To do so, click
SELECT in the MENU window, then click on
a point in this color area (see also
page 26-6).
The selected color is indicated by a mask
(unless you have selected the HIDE function
beforehand).
2. Select FILL TO in the MENU window.
FILL TO AREA appears in the STATUS window
to indicate that this mode is active.
3. Select CMYK COLOR in the MENU window to
open the COLOR SELECTION dialog (see
page 10-8). Then choose the color to be
used for flood-filling.
You can set individual color separations to
transparent using C, M, Y and
K TRANSPARENT in the MENU window.
4. Click on a point inside the area
to be filled (e.g. on the man’s
forehead in our example).
The new color ‘spreads’ across
the linework from this point but is
stopped by the active color (the
man’s hair and the outline of his
shirt), i.e., it does not spread into
this color nor into any areas beyond
it.
