The Institute <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Chemistry <strong>of</strong> Chemical Metallic Processes in Krasnoyarsk under<br />

<strong>the</strong> candidate degree. Scientists study <strong>the</strong> syn<strong>the</strong>sis and combinations <strong>of</strong> nonferrous<br />

metals and <strong>the</strong>ir extraction processes; study <strong>the</strong> quality <strong>of</strong> inorganic<br />

substances, <strong>the</strong> structure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> technological processes used in producing <strong>the</strong>m,<br />

and search for new functional materials and substances with high<br />

Aleksandrov, Kirill S., D. PM. S. Born in 1931. He is a specialist in <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong><br />

crystallography and <strong>the</strong> physics <strong>of</strong> crystals. He was elected a corresponding<br />

member in 1972, and he has been an academician <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> General Physics and<br />

Astronomy Department <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> academy since 1984. He graduated from <strong>the</strong><br />

Leningrad V. I. Ulyanova-Lenin Electro-Technical Institute in 1954 and began<br />

work at <strong>the</strong> A V. Shubnikov Crystallography Institute in 1958, and at <strong>the</strong> Physics<br />

Institute in Krasnoyarsk as a junior researcher; he was head <strong>of</strong> a labora<strong>to</strong>ry and a<br />

Deputy Direc<strong>to</strong>r from 1968 <strong>to</strong> 1981. Since 1983, he has been Direc<strong>to</strong>r <strong>of</strong> that<br />

institute--<strong>the</strong> L. V. Kirenskii Physics Institute in Krasnoyarsk that was established<br />

in 1956 <strong>to</strong> study thin magnetic film physics, super strong stationary magnetic<br />

fields, ferro-electric physics, and radio spectroscopy. It is subordinate <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />
