reactivity and application. Metallacarboranes <strong>of</strong> transition metals, especially<br />

platinum group metals, <strong>the</strong>ir reactivity, structural study and application in<br />

homogeneous catalysts. Carboranyl derivatives <strong>of</strong> main group metals. Investigation<br />

<strong>of</strong> anti tumor activity <strong>of</strong> polyhedral boranes and carboranes.<br />

The labora<strong>to</strong>ry was set up in 1989. Structures, chemistry and catalytical properties <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

layered solids and cluster compounds (carbon clusters, graphite, metal<br />

chalcogenides). Powder X-ray and EXAFS structural studies. Theoretical problems<br />

<strong>of</strong> solid state chemistry.<br />
