The labora<strong>to</strong>ry works on social-psychological and ethnic problems <strong>of</strong> interethnic relations.<br />

Interethnic conflicts are analyzed including motivation, conflict mediation and peace<br />

activity. Techniques <strong>of</strong> intergroup conflict resolution are being developed.<br />

The labora<strong>to</strong>ry develops methodology <strong>of</strong> his<strong>to</strong>ric-psychological research' studies <strong>the</strong><br />

his<strong>to</strong>ry <strong>of</strong> <strong>Russian</strong> psychology and some <strong>of</strong> its branches (comparative, ethnic and<br />

clinical psychology), started concrete research <strong>of</strong> psycho-his<strong>to</strong>rical nature. The<br />

labora<strong>to</strong>ry has a scientific archive.<br />

6. LABORATORY OF COGNITIVE PSYCHOPHYSIOLOGY<br />

The main goal <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> labora<strong>to</strong>ry is <strong>the</strong> search for neural codes <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> memory, development<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> integrated activity <strong>the</strong>ory and work on new quantitative laws in<br />

psychophysics and cognitive psychology. The work is being done in <strong>the</strong> directions<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> analysis <strong>of</strong> electrophysiological indica<strong>to</strong>rs <strong>of</strong> information processes; <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

volume, speed and correctness <strong>of</strong> perception, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> speed and correctness <strong>of</strong><br />

mnemic and visual scanning, <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> correctness <strong>of</strong> individual assessment in <strong>the</strong><br />

tasks <strong>of</strong> multimeasured scaling, <strong>the</strong> search for new lows in <strong>the</strong> sphere <strong>of</strong><br />

quantitative linguistics.<br />

The labora<strong>to</strong>ry develops conception <strong>of</strong> formation and development <strong>of</strong> personality as <strong>of</strong> an<br />

active subject on <strong>the</strong> sensory-limited basis. Directions <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> studies are as follows:<br />

comparative analysis <strong>of</strong> human psychological development under conditions <strong>of</strong><br />

sensorial norms and conditions <strong>of</strong> sensory deficiency; <strong>the</strong> search for typical ways <strong>of</strong><br />

personality formation in <strong>the</strong> circumstances <strong>of</strong> different sensory deficiencies<br />

(blindness, deafness, blindness and deafness combined etc)<br />

8. LABORATORY OF SPEECH PSYCHOLOGY AND OF PSYCHOLINGUISTICS<br />

The main research direction include <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> natural and social components <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

speech; development <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> systemic model <strong>of</strong> speech communication; modeling <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> communicative structure <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> dialogue; <strong>the</strong> study <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> structure and <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

process <strong>of</strong> argumentation; <strong>the</strong> speech in situations <strong>of</strong> conflict; genesis <strong>of</strong> speech<br />

communication. The labora<strong>to</strong>ry carries on applied research <strong>to</strong>o, such as<br />

optimization <strong>of</strong> spech communication in different social conditions and diagnostics<br />

<strong>of</strong> individual specifics <strong>of</strong> a person as communica<strong>to</strong>r.<br />
