Sobolev, Nikolai V., D. GM. S. Born in 1935. Geologist. Specialist in Mineralogy<br />

and petrology. Corresponding member <strong>of</strong> The Geology, Geophysics,<br />

Geochemistry, and Mining <strong>Sciences</strong> Department <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>Academy</strong> since 1981, and<br />

academician since 1992. He graduated from L’vovsk State <strong>University</strong> in 1958. He<br />

worked at <strong>the</strong> Mineralogical museum at <strong>the</strong> university. In 1960 he joined <strong>the</strong><br />

Geology and Geophysics Institute <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Siberian Department, working as a junior<br />

and senior researchers and head <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Labora<strong>to</strong>ry <strong>of</strong> High Pressure Minerals<br />
