General PurposesThe business and mixed-use base zoning districts are established for the general purpose ofensuring there are lands in the county that provide a wide range of office, retail, service,industrial, and related uses to meet household and business needs, and more specifically to:A. Provide appropriately located lands for the full range of business uses needed by thecounty’s residents, businesses, and workers, consistent with the goals, objectives, andpolicies of the Land Use Plan and applicable small area plans;B. Strengthen the county’s economic base, and provide employment opportunities closeto home for residents of the county and surrounding communities;C. Create suitable environments for various types of business uses, and protect themfrom the adverse effects of incompatible uses;D. Create suitable environments for various types of mixed-use development, wherebusiness, office, retail, and residential uses are designed and integrated in compatibleways;E. Preserve the unique character and historic resources of the Caratoke Highway andCorolla Village areas; andF.
