Chapter 5: <strong>Development</strong> StandardsSECTION 5.6: COMMUNITY FORM STANDARDSSubsection 5.6.2: Applicability5.6.2. ApplicabilityA. GeneralUnless exempted in accordance with Section 5.6.2.E, Exemptions, or except whereotherwise expressly stated, the standards in this section apply to all new developmentin the county, as well as to all street rights-of-way.B. Time of ReviewReview for compliance with the standards in this section shall take place as part of thereview of an application for a site plan (Section 2.4.7), subdivision (section 2.4.8),planned development master plan (Section 2.4.5), or zoning compliance permit(Section 2.4.9), as appropriate.C. Existing <strong>Development</strong>Compliance with these standards, to the maximum extent practicable, shall also applyto redevelopment of an existing structure, building, or use when it is expanded,enlarged, or otherwise increased in intensity in an amount equivalent to or beyond 50percent.D. ConflictIn the event of conflict or overlap with the standards in this section and the standardsin Chapter 6: Subdivisions and Infrastructure, the standards in Chapter 6 shall control.E. Exemptions(1) Lots in the RC and SFR districts are exempted from the standards in thissection.(2) Conservation subdivisions and subdivisions of five or fewer lots shall beexempted from the following standards in this section:(a) Section 5.6.4, Internal Street Connectivity;(b) Section 5.6.5, External Street Connectivity; and(c) Section 5.6.6, <strong>Development</strong> Entry Points.5.6.3. Street StandardsAll streets shall be developed in accordance with the standards in this section and thestandards in Section 6.2.1, Street Standards.5.6.4. Internal Street ConnectivityA. Minimum Connectivity Index Score RequiredAll development shall achieve an internal street connectivity score in accordance withTable 5.6.4, Minimum Street Connectivity Index:CURRITUCK COUNTY, NC UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE5.46
