Chapter 4: Use StandardsSECTION 4.3: ACCESSORY USE STANDARDSSubsection 4.3.3: Specific Standards for Certain Accessory Uses(6) The site plan as approved by the Planning and Community <strong>Development</strong>Department showing the location of and access to the cemetery shall berecorded with the Register of Deeds as an addendum to the deed for thesubject property.E. Child Care, IncidentalChild care is permitted as an accessory use to a single-family dwelling in accordancewith the following standards:(1) Such uses shall be licensed by the State as a Family Child Care Home and shallcomply with all minimum State requirements;(2) The child care portion shall be limited to areas required and/or approved bythe State; and(3) The use shall be operated by a person residing within the principal use andshall be limited to a maximum of one additional employee not residing in theprincipal use;F. Community AgricultureCommunity agriculture uses shall comply with the following standards:(1) Minimum Lot Size(a) Community agriculture uses may only be located on lots of two acresor larger within residential districts, and one acre or larger withinbusiness or mixed-use districts.(b) Community agriculture uses may be conducted on a lot that does notcontain a principal use.(2) Buildings and Storage(a)(b)(3) Retail Sales(a)(b)Community agriculture uses may include up to 1,500 total square feetof floor area within greenhouses, storage buildings, or other relatedstructures.Equipment or materials shall be stored within an enclosed structure orwithin a fully-screened enclosure.Retail sales of produce grown on-site may take place provided thesales/display area is not located within a habitable structure, andprovided the sales/display area is located at least 300 feet from anyresidential use.Nothing shall prohibit the erection of a temporary shade structure,provided the shade structure does not remain in place overnight.(4) Additional Standards(a)(b)(c)Exterior lighting is prohibited;Signage shall be limited to a single, non-illuminated, flat sign of foursquare feet;No more than four off-street parking spaces shall be provided inaddition to those required for the principal use; andCURRITUCK COUNTY, NC UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE4.52
