Chapter 5: <strong>Development</strong> StandardsSECTION 5.1: OFF-STREET PARKING AND LOADINGSubsection 5.1.4: Configuration of Vehicular Use AreasFigure 5.1.4.7, Parking Lot Cross Access(b)Waiver(i)The cross-access standard may be waived by the PlanningDirector if the applicant demonstrates it is impractical toprovide cross-access due to:(A)(B)Topography or natural features; orVehicular safety factors.(c)(ii)When cross-access is waived in accordance with this section,bicycle and pedestrian connections shall be provided betweenadjacent developments or uses, unless the provision is deemedunreasonable or impracticable.Recording RequiredWhere provided, a cross-access easement shall be recorded in the<strong>Currituck</strong> <strong>County</strong> Register of deeds by the owner/developer.(8) DrainageAll off-street parking, loading, and circulation areas shall be properly drained inaccordance with the stormwater management standards in this <strong>Ordinance</strong>, soas not to cause any nuisance on adjacent land.(9) Exterior LightingWhen lighted, off-street parking, loading, and circulation areas shall be lightedso as to prevent glare or illumination exceeding maximum allowable levels onadjacent land (see Table 5.4.6, Maximum Illumination Levels), and unlessexempted, shall comply with the standards of Section 5.4, Exterior Lighting.CURRITUCK COUNTY, NC UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE5.10
