Building Design(1) Maximum HeightBuildings subject to the standards of this section shall have a maximum heightof two stories within 100 feet of a lot with an existing single-family detachedresidential dwelling, without an intervening public street. This standard shallapply regardless of any incentives, administrative adjustments, or master plans.(2) Facade Articulation(a)(b)Street-facing building facades shall be articulated with wall offsets atleast two feet deep for every 30 feet of facade frontage.In addition to wall offsets, front facades facing streets shall provide aminimum of three of the following articulation elements (see Figure5.7.3.C, Front Facades):(i)(ii)(iii)(iv)(v)(vi)A covered porch;One or more dormer windows or cupolas;Pillars, posts or pilasters;One or more bay windows with a minimum twelve-inchprojection from the facade plane;Multiple windows with a minimum of four-inch-wide trim;Raised corniced parapets over the door;(vii) Eaves with a minimum of four-inch-wide trim; or(viii) Integral planters that incorporate landscaped areas and/orplaces for sitting.CURRITUCK COUNTY, NC UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE5.58
