Chapter 4: Use StandardsSECTION 4.4: TEMPORARY USE STANDARDSSubsection 4.4.6: Specific Regulations for Certain Temporary Uses and Structures(2) Adjacent SiteBecause of site constraints, construction-related activities may need to occuron a site that is adjacent to or nearby the construction site. In such cases, atemporary use permit is required (see Section 2.4.11). Such uses shall beremoved within 30 days after occupancy, and the site restored to its previouscondition.B. Expansion or Replacement of Existing Facilities(1) Purpose and ScopeFactory-fabricated, transportable buildings that are designed to arrive at thesite ready for occupancy (except for minor unpacking and connection toutilities), and designed for relocation to other sites, may be placed on land toserve as the following:(a)(b)(c)(d)Temporary Expansion Space for Religious Institutions, HeathCare Facilities, and <strong>Government</strong> OfficesExpansion space for existing religious institutions, health care facilities,and government offices, provided plans for the permanent expansionof the existing facilities have been submitted to and been approved bythe county. These facilities are exempted from temporary time limits.Temporary Classroom SpaceTemporary classroom space to augment an existing public educationalfacility. These facilities are exempted from temporary time limits.Temporary ResidenceTemporary residences during the construction or reconstruction of adwelling unit for which the county has issued a building permit.Temporary OfficeOne temporary office per site to include but not be limited to, thefollowing uses: hiring, membership solicitation, multi-familydevelopment office/leasing, and other general office uses. The numberof modular buildings housing such uses shall be limited to one, inaddition to those already allowed by this section. Such modularbuildings shall not be placed on the property prior to the issuance of abuilding permit.(2) StandardsIn addition to meeting the general standards of Section 4.4.5, GeneralStandards for Temporary Uses and Structures, all temporary structuresapproved in accordance with this section shall meet the following standards:(a)The structure may be located anywhere on the site except within thefollowing areas:(i)(ii)(iii)Existing required landscaping or perimeter buffer areas;Areas designated as future required landscaping areas,whether or not vegetation currently exists; andOther areas designated on the site for open space, vehicularuse, or ingress/egress.CURRITUCK COUNTY, NC UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE4.66
