Chapter 4: Use StandardsSECTION 4.2: USE-SPECIFIC STANDARDSSubsection 4.2.4: Commercial Uses(b)(iii)Commercial Sales ProhibitedThere shall be no commercial sales that are not an integralpart of the pool use, nor shall any commercial displays bevisible from the street or other property.Tennis CourtsTennis courts shall comply with the following standards:(i)(ii)LocationAll lighted tennis courts shall be located at least 50 feet fromany adjacent residential use on a different lot.ScreeningLighted tennis courts open to the public shall be screenedfrom any existing or proposed residential land with a Type Cbuffer in accordance with Section 5.2.6, Perimeter LandscapeBuffers.(3) MarinasMarinas shall be certified as a “clean marina” as part of the North CarolinaClean Marina Program, and shall comply with the following standards:(a)Location(i)(ii)(iii)(iv)Marinas shall be located in areas where there is a high rate ofwater "turnover" (the time required for tidal action or waterflow to replace water of a boat basin with new water fromanother source).Marinas in upland areas shall be encouraged.Marina access channels shall be designed to maximizecirculation and avoid dead-end spots.Proposals for marina development shall be accompanied by amodeling study indicating expected flushing, where applicable.(b)(c)Design(i)(ii)(iii)Dredging(i)(ii)Marinas shall be planned in such a manner as to minimize therisk of water pollution.Marina designs must incorporate facilities for the properhandling of sewage, waste, and refuse.Marinas shall minimize alteration of existing shorelineconfigurations and disturbance of vital habitat areas.Dredging operations shall not occur during critical periods offish migration and breeding.The method of dredging shall be chosen that will have theleast environmental impact, and all dredged materials shall beplaced in a manner so as not to pollute surrounding areas.(4) Recreation, OutdoorOutdoor recreation uses shall comply with the following standards:CURRITUCK COUNTY, NC UNIFIED DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE4.30
