Para satisfacer estcs objetivos se ha propuesto
reaiizar una serie de conferenciakalleres regionales a
fin de I ;pminar !as cuestiones y problemas en base a
las caractcrfsticas regionales especificas. La primera
conferencialtalier se efectuo en Quito, Ecuador de1
19 al 21 de agosto de 1980. Fue co-patrocinada por el
Instituto ‘National de Energia (INE), el Instituto
Ecuatoriano de Electrification (INECEL) y la
Asociacion Nacionai de Cooperativas de Electrificacion
Rural (NRECA).
organizations.
* Stimulation of interest among the interna-
financing large programs in the developing
countries.
0 Examination of the institutional and
economic issues associated with mini-micro
hydropower implementation.
In order to meet these objectives, it was pro-
posed that a series of regional workshops be
held with the aim of examining these issues and
problems on a region-specific basis. The first
such workshop took place in Quito, Ecuador on
August 19-21, 1980. It was co-sponsored by the
instituto National de Energia (INE), the lnstituto
Ecuatoriano de Electrification (INECEL) and the
National Rural Electric Cooperative Association
(NRECA). This volume contains the proceedings
of that workshop in both Spanish and English.
Approximately 110 guest attended representing a
dozen countries and several international
organizations. Discussions were held covering
many aspects of mini-micro hydropower. Of par-
ticular interest were the country presentations
and technical sessions given by hydropower
technology experts. Post evaluations indicated
that the workshop was well received and of
benefit to all attendees.
