Objeto, Relaciones y Contenido de
las Macroactividades
La primera macroactividad, tiene por objet0
establecer la information basica, determinar 10s
par&metros generales y proveer el impulso initial al
programa. Estas acciones alimentan las macroac-
tividades 2 y 3. Las actividades principales, que com-
prende la macro 1, son las siguientes:
0 Determination preliminar general de sitios, la
cual a su vez envuelve las siguientes:
- Identification de comunidades rurales que no
estaran servidas por las redes electricas (inter-
conectada ni regional).
Diagnostico preliminar de1 potential hidro-
electrico de las cuencas pequefias.
- Determination tentativa de sitios, a nivel
national.
0 Requerimientos electricos de 10s principales pro-
yectos de desarrollo rural.
m Determination de la capacidad institutional na-
cional, para ei desarrollo de1 programa.
Diagnostico global de la magnitud de1 programa,
de diseminacion masiva de microcentrales
hidraulicas: poblacion total atendida, numero de
comunidades y unidades, potential total por in-
stalarse, tipos, costos, mercado potential para la
produccidn national, etc.
e Identification de las instituciones 1 participantes
inicialmente, y establecimiento de 10s vinculos (in-
stituciones 2).
La segunda macroactividad, aunque servira las
necesidades y programas de ciertas comcnidades;
tiene por objet0 principal, la experimentation, en el
campo, de 10s sistemas de microgeneracion, en sus
multiples dimensiones, desde las tiknicas hasta las
comunales, incluyendo las de utilization y aporte, de
la peneracion electrica a la economia y al nivel de
vi;la rural. Los proyectos utilizaran la information
que genera la macroactividad 1, conforme se encuen-
tre disponible. Paralelamente se iniciara la macro-
actividad 3, la cual tambien usara la information
disponible y la irk perfeccionando. Como indican las
flechas en la Figura 5, las macroactividades 2 y 3 se
retroalimentan mutuamente. En cuanto la 3 genera
information, &&a es evaluada por 10s ejecutores de la
2, en cuanto a su aplicabilidad en la construction y
organization de 10s proyectos. A su vez, 10s datos ex-
perimentales de 10s proyectos pilotos, serviran para
depurar las metodologks y acciones que se desar-
rollan a traves de 3.

4. Dissemination of microhydropower plants.
Objective, Relationships and Content of the
Macroactivities: The first macroactivity has the
purpose of establishing the data base, to deter-
mine the parameters in general and provide the
initial impetus to the program. These activities
feed macroactivities 2 and 3. The main activities
comprising macro 1 are as follows:
0 Preliminary determination of general sites
which, in turn, involve the following:
- Identification of rural communities not be-
ing served by the present electric grids
(either interconnected or regional).
- Preliminary diagnosis of the hydropower
potential of small river basins
- Tentative determination of sites at na-
tional level.
0 Determination of the electrical demand by
the main rural developments projects.
* Determination of the national institutional
capability for development of the program.
0 Overall diagnosis of the magnitude of the
dissemination program of microhydropower
plants: total number of population served,
number of communities and units, potential
overall installations, types, costs, potential
market for domestic production, etc.
m Identification of institutions 1 that would par-
ticipate initially and the establishment of rela-
tionships (institutions 2).
The second macroactivity, even though it will
serve the needs and programs of certain com-
munities, has as a main objective experimenta-
tion in the field of micro-generation systems, in
their multiple dimensions form technical to com-
munity, including uses and financial benefits of
electrification to the economy and quality of life
in the rural environment. The projects will use the
data-base generated in macroactivity 1 as it
becomes available. In a parallel form, macroac-
tivity 3 will be initiated and it will also use the in-
formation available and refine it. As indicated by
the arrows in Figure 5, macroactivities 2 and 3
are feeding each other. As soon as macro 3
generates information, this is evaluated by the
staff of macro 2 in terms of applicability in the
construction and organization of the projects.
