muc%o mayores que las de las cargas rurales.<br />

Planeamiento de Pepueiios<br />

Sistemas Ehktricos<br />

Con la finalidad de lograr un adecuado uso de 10s<br />

escasos recursos econ6miccs y financieros es<br />

necesario elaborar el Plan <strong>National</strong> de Electrificaci6n<br />

Rural, el que <strong>com</strong>prenda todos 10s proyectos de esta<br />

naturaleza. En general 10s proyectos de elec-<br />

tridicaci5n rural pueden clasificarse en:<br />

a) Eiectrificaci6n de Valles<br />

b) Electrificaci6n de Pequefios Sistemas<br />

c) Electrificaci6n de Localidades Aisladas.<br />

Electrifk~i0n de valles. Son proyectos de impor-<br />

tante magnitud, que cubren valles en 10s cuales se<br />

encuentran ubicados numerosas loc&idades y<br />

poblaci6n dispersa.<br />

Existen valles en 10s cuales, ademks de las cargas<br />

el&tricas <strong>com</strong>ilnes <strong>com</strong>a son aquellas de equipos<br />

agrkolas (ejemplo: pequefios molinos), alumbrado,<br />

etc., existen demandas de energia para bombeo de<br />

agua subterrsnea. En general 10s proyectos rurales<br />

que permitan obtener agua parz, irrigacGn, son 10s<br />

m&s atractivos, algunos de estos proyectos son: Valle<br />

de Chincha, Valie de Ica, Valle de La Yarada y Valie<br />

de Magollo.<br />

Ekctrificacih de pequeiios sistemas. Definimos<br />

corn0 pequefios sistemas a aquellos proyectos que in-<br />

cluyen varias poblaciones cercanas ubicadas en el<br />

Korea de influencia de uw pequefia central de<br />

genera&n. En general estos proyectos se encuen-<br />

trw ubicados en la serrania de1 Peti y <strong>com</strong>prenden<br />

cargas el&3kas principalmente para servicio<br />

domiciliario y alumbrado pdblico.<br />

Electrifieacih de localidades aisladas. Existen<br />

numerosas poblaciones aisladas, que para electri-<br />

ficarlas es necesario implementar una central elec-<br />

trica pequeda solo para cada poblaci6n.<br />

Definimos un Fequeiio Sistema Ekctrico al conjun-<br />

to de obras de genera&n, subtransmisk, trans-<br />

formaci6n y de distribuci6n de energia ektrica a in-<br />

stalarse en un 5rea en la que se sitian varias pobla-<br />

Planning <strong>Small</strong> Electrical Systems<br />

To obtain the best use of the scant economic<br />

and financial resources, it is necessary to design<br />

a national plan for rural electrification, covering<br />

all projects of this nature. In general, the rural<br />

electrification projects can be classified as:<br />

a) Electrification of valleys,<br />

b) Smali electrification systems<br />

c) E!ectrification of isolated <strong>com</strong>munities.<br />

Electrification of valleys. These are projects of<br />

importance, covering valleys where there are<br />

numerous <strong>com</strong>munities and population is spread<br />

out. There are valleys where, besides ttle <strong>com</strong>-<br />

mon electrical loads such as agricultural equip-<br />

ment (e.g. small windmills), illumination, etc,<br />

there are energy demands for underground water<br />

pumping. In general, rural projects to obtain ir-<br />

rigation water are the most attractive, Some of<br />

these projects are in the Chincha Valley, Ica<br />

Valley, La Yarada Valley, and Magolio Valley.<br />

<strong>Small</strong> electrification systems. <strong>Small</strong> systems<br />

are defined as those projects which serve several<br />

neighboring <strong>com</strong>munities located in the area of<br />

influence of a small powerplant. In general, these<br />

projects are located in the mountains in Peru’ and<br />

they serve mainly domestic and public illumina-<br />

tion loads.<br />

Electrification of isolated <strong>com</strong>munities. There<br />

are a number of isolated <strong>com</strong>munities needing in-<br />

stallation of a small electric powe:-plant to pro-<br />

vide electrification to each one of them.<br />

Definition of <strong>Small</strong> Electric System<br />

A small electric system is the aggregate of all<br />

the works required for generation, subtransmis-<br />

sion, transformation and distribution of electric<br />

power to be installed in an area where several<br />

<strong>com</strong>munities may be supplied frclm a <strong>com</strong>mon<br />

source of energy. This area of influence is called<br />

a mini-region.<br />

The power installations preferably consist of<br />

mini-hydropower plants with installed capacity of<br />

up to 1000 kW, without limiting them to this<br />

capacity. There will be systems with a higher<br />

capacity demand, but they are rural in character
