densidad.
Este criteria es economico debido a que
mini-regiones de mayor densidad requeriran
menor longitud de lineas de subtransmisibn y
de redes de distribuci6n.
5. Demanda de Potencia
P-,so: x5
303
(shorter length of the canal) and more dif-
ficult topography, a higher score should be
assigned. This is a technical economic
criterion.
3. Population Benefited
Weight X3
The score will vary between 2 and IO
depending on the population range. This
criterion has a social character. It gives
preference to the systems which would
benefit a higher number of inhabitants,
even though the economic losses in the
operation are increased due to the high
cost of energy in view of the existing tariff.
4. Population Density
Weight X4
The score will vary according tc the
range of inhabitants lkm2, from 1 for mini-
regions of low density to 10 for those of
highest desnity. This criterion is economic
in nature due to the fact that mini-regions
of higher density will require shorter sub-
transmission lines and a smaller distribuion
grid.
5. Energy Demand
Weight X6
The score will vary from 1 to IO, the
highest scores going to mini-regions of
greater demand, due to the lower cost of
energy and the fact that service is provided
to a larger number of people.
6. Existence and type of access roads to the
mini-region
Weight X6
The score will vary from 1 to 10 depen-
ding on the type of access roads, assigning
higher scores to the projects that have ac-
cess through better roads. It is assumed
that mini-regions with better access roads
have a higher economical standard.
7. Existence of Drinking Water Service
Weight X7
A score from 1 to 10 will be assigned
with higher scores to communities having
water service, the higher scores will go to
mini-regions with a larger population with
water service. This is an economic criterion
since it is assumed that communities hav-
ing water service are at a higher economic
level and have a higher probability of pay-
