stitutions 2. A more simple form constitutes an
analysis of human interactions to identify institu-
tions 2.
It is noteworthy that identification and creation
of activities 2 also constitute an activity, or more
precisely, a meta-activity. This is part of the coor-
dination function during the programming phase.
The result of the meta-activity described is the
branching out of relationship chains, which con-
stitute the program, through inclusion of institu-
tions 2. The continuation of the chains by linking
institutions 1 or implementing individuals ‘to in-
stitutions 2 can be performed algorithmically, if
there is an adequate data base.
Consideration of the mechanics presented is
didactic for two reasons: first, the nature of the
differences between the two institutional com-
ponents is highlighted within the support system
of a program. Graphically institutions 1 may be
represented as nodes and institutions 2 as
segments, constituting a grid (Figure 4); second,
it proposes a schematic model of the analysis
process for institutional design of a program as
an alternative discussion base.
