Mix all ingredients except breadcrumbs and place in a greased casserole. Top with crumbs and bake<br />

uncovered in a moderate oven (375F) for 1 hour or until it is cooked down and soft.<br />

1 quart tomatoes<br />

6 tbsp brown sugar<br />

1 stick margarine<br />

1 ½ cup breadcrumbs<br />

½ tsp basil<br />

Bring the tomatoes and brown sugar to a boil; boil a few minutes, stirring. Melt margarine and pour over<br />

breadcrumbs. Combine the tomatoes and breadcrumbs. Add basil and mix well. Bake in 1 ½ quart<br />

casserole for 45 minutes at 350F uncovered.<br />
