Archive, and Restore interface on the client. For the General tab, click <strong>NetBackup</strong><br />

Client Properties on the File menu; <strong>for</strong> Clients tab, click Specify <strong>NetBackup</strong><br />

◆ The bp.conf file on Macintosh clients.<br />

◆ The bp.ini file on OS/2 and NetWare target clients.<br />

2. On clients and servers, verify that the name service is set up to correctly resolve the<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> client names.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 49<br />

Message: client did not start<br />

Explanation: The client failed to start up correctly.<br />

Recommended Action:<br />

1. Verify that software is installed on the client and it is the correct version. If necessary,<br />

reinstall the client software.<br />

2. Check <strong>for</strong> full file systems on the client.<br />

3. Enable detailed debug logging on the client:<br />

◆ Create bpcd and bpbkar (<strong>Windows</strong> only) debug log directories.<br />

◆ Increase the debug or log level as explained in the debug log topics in Chapter 3.<br />

4. Retry the operation and examine the resulting logs.<br />

5. On SGI IRIX 6.2/6.4 systems, clients may be missing the libdbm.so shared library.<br />

Refer to the SGI/IRIX install CD-ROM <strong>for</strong> the eoe.sw.dmi package.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 50<br />

Message: client process aborted<br />

Explanation: The client backup aborted. One instance when this code appears is if a<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> master or media server is shut down or rebooted when a backup or restore is<br />

in process.<br />

Recommended Action:<br />

1. Enable detailed debug logging:<br />

◆ Create a bpbkar debug log directory (<strong>Windows</strong> only).<br />
