Status Codes<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 97<br />

Message: requested media id is in use, cannot process request<br />

Explanation: An operation was requested on a media ID that is in use. An example of this<br />

is attempting to suspend or freeze a volume while it is being used <strong>for</strong> a backup or restore.<br />

Recommended Action: Retry the command when the volume is not in use. Use the<br />

Device Monitor to determine if the volume is in use.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 98<br />

Message: error requesting media (tpreq)<br />

Explanation: The tape manager (bptm) received an error when requesting a media mount<br />

from the <strong>NetBackup</strong> Device Manager service.<br />

Recommended Action: Check the <strong>NetBackup</strong> Problems report to determine the reason<br />

<strong>for</strong> the failure. The most common cause is that the <strong>NetBackup</strong> Device Manager service on<br />

<strong>Windows</strong> is not running. Start it if necessary.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 99<br />

Message: NDMP backup failure<br />

Explanation: None of the paths in your NDMP policy file list was backed up successfully.<br />

Recommended Action: Check the <strong>NetBackup</strong> All Log Entries report <strong>for</strong> more<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation. A possible cause <strong>for</strong> this error is that none of the backup paths exist on the<br />

NDMP host.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 100<br />

Message: system error occurred while processing user command<br />

Explanation: A system call failed in bparchive, bpbackup, bplist, or bprestore.<br />

Recommended Action:<br />

1. Enable debug logging <strong>for</strong> bparchive, bpbackup, bplist, or bprestore (as<br />

appropriate) by creating debug log directories <strong>for</strong> them.<br />

2. Retry the operation and check the resulting logs.<br />
