Explanation: The client and server handshaking was not correct.<br />

Status Codes<br />

1. Verify that the correct version of software is running on the client and the server.<br />

2. Enable detailed debug logging:<br />

◆ On the server, create a bpbrm debug log directory.<br />

◆ On clients, create a bpcd debug log directory (created automatically on<br />

Macintosh clients).<br />

◆ Increase the amount of debug in<strong>for</strong>mation included in the logs as explained in the<br />

debug log topics in Chapter 3.<br />

3. Retry the operation and examine the logs.<br />

Note If you are using bpstart_notify scripts on <strong>Windows</strong> clients, verify that<br />

messages are not being written to stdout or stderr.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 44<br />

Message: network write failed<br />

Explanation: An attempt to write data to a socket failed.<br />

Recommended Action:<br />

1. Check the Problems report <strong>for</strong> in<strong>for</strong>mation about the error.<br />

2. Verify that the client and servers are operational and connected to the network.<br />

3. Create a debug log directory <strong>for</strong> the process that reported the problem and the<br />

operation. Examine the resulting debug log file <strong>for</strong> detailed troubleshooting<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />
