Status Codes<br />

Explanation: This error is returned by a vault job or command when it cannot locate the<br />

following directory:<br />

UNIX: /usr/openv/netbackup/vault<br />

<strong>Windows</strong>: install_path\<strong>NetBackup</strong>\vault<br />

Recommended Action: The vault directory is created when the vault package is<br />

installed on the master server. Ensure that the vault job or command is started as root on<br />

the master server and that the vault directory has not been inadvertently removed or<br />

made inaccessible to root user.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 287<br />

Message: failed attempting to copy (consolidated) report file<br />

Explanation: This error occurs when a vault job is unable to copy the consolidated reports<br />

to the destination directory specified in the vault profile.<br />

Recommended Action: Ensure that the destination directory specified in the profile exists<br />

and is writable by root. Also the vault job or command must be started with root<br />

privileges. Correct the path and/or permissions of the destination directory and rerun the<br />

vault job or command.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 288<br />

Message: attempt to open a log file failed<br />

Explanation: This error occurs when a vault job cannot create the detail.log file or<br />

summary.log file in the following directory:<br />

UNIX: /usr/openv/netbackup/vault/sessions/vault_name/sidxxx<br />

<strong>Windows</strong>: install_path \Netbackup\vault\sessions\vault_name\sidxxx<br />

(where xxx is the session id.)<br />

Recommended Action: Ensure that the above directory exists and has not been<br />

inadvertently removed after the vault job was started. Ensure that this directory is<br />

writable by root and that the disk is not full. Rerun the vault job after correcting the<br />

problem.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 289<br />

Message: an error occurred when calling vltcore<br />

Explanation: The error can occur during a normal vault job or when vlteject is<br />

executed <strong>for</strong> a specific session or when vltopmenu is used to generate individual reports,<br />

if any of the following conditions exists:<br />

◆ vltcore binary is removed<br />
