3. Starts the actual backup by using bpcd to start the backup program, bpbkar.<br />

If the database is on the master server, bpbackupdb starts the backup and archive<br />

program on the master server. If the database is on a media server, bpbackupdb<br />

starts the backup and archive program on the media server.<br />

The bpbkar program transmits file in<strong>for</strong>mation and the backup image to separate<br />

bpbackupdb processes as shown on Figure 9.<br />
