1. The file does not exist.<br />

2. The file is <strong>for</strong> a different version of <strong>NetBackup</strong>. You can find what version it is <strong>for</strong> by<br />

reading the header in the file.<br />

3. The file has a corrupted licensing digest.<br />

Recommended Action: Download the latest external mappings files from the VERITAS<br />

support website at www.veritas.com.<br />

Device Configuration Status Code: 3<br />

Message: The external_drive_mappings file has invalid license info<br />

Explanation: The problem concerns one of the following files:<br />

◆ /usr/openv/share/external_drive_mappings.txt (UNIX)<br />

◆ install_path\VERITAS\<strong>NetBackup</strong>\share\external_drive_mappings.txt<br />

(<strong>Windows</strong>)<br />

1. The file does not exist.<br />

2. The file is <strong>for</strong> a different version of <strong>NetBackup</strong>. You can find what version it is <strong>for</strong> by<br />

reading the header in the file.<br />

3. The file has a corrupted licensing digest.<br />

Recommended Action: Download the latest external mappings files from the VERITAS<br />

support website at www.veritas.com.<br />

Device Configuration Status Code: 4<br />

Message: The global device database version is incompatible.<br />

Explanation: The Device Configuration wizard is trying to store the global device<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation on a server that is at the wrong <strong>NetBackup</strong> server level.<br />

Recommended Action: Choose a <strong>NetBackup</strong> server on which to store the global device<br />

in<strong>for</strong>mation that is running at the same Netbackup version as that used on the host where<br />

the device discovery process was executed.<br />

Device Configuration Status Code: 5<br />

Message: Cannot synchronize global device database<br />
