<strong>NetBackup</strong> <strong>4.5</strong> <strong>Troubleshooting</strong> <strong>Guide</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Windows</strong><br />

same drive connected to each host. If they are unique drives, run<br />

tpconfig -tables on bison and mud and look <strong>for</strong> the serial number <strong>for</strong><br />

MyDrive0 and MyDrive1. If the serial numbers are the same, check with the drive<br />

vendor to see if it is possible to modify the serial number. If the serial numbers are<br />

different, delete the drive on one of the hosts and re-run device discovery there.<br />

Device Configuration Status Code: 45<br />

Message: No device found in RSM at the specified location<br />

Explanation: On a request to add or change robot in<strong>for</strong>mation in the device configuration,<br />

the specified robotic device path could not be found in the system registry. This status<br />

code applies to <strong>Windows</strong> 2000 systems only.<br />

Recommended Action: Use the Media and Device Management interface New Robot or<br />

Change Robot display to browse <strong>for</strong> robots in the system registry, eliminating the need to<br />

manually specify device paths or device control parameters. Check the operating system<br />

registry <strong>for</strong> changer names and their associated SCSI paths when manually specifying<br />

robotic control in<strong>for</strong>mation. Check <strong>for</strong> detailed errors from the command or user interface<br />

output.<br />

Device Configuration Status Code: 46<br />

Message: Unable to retrieve GUID from RSM api<br />

Explanation: On a request to add or change robot in<strong>for</strong>mation in the device configuration,<br />

an error was encountered while attempting to obtain the RSM GUID <strong>for</strong> the specified<br />

device path or device control parameters. (RSM is the Microsoft Removable Storage<br />

Manager and GUID is a Global Unique Identifier.) This error code applies to <strong>Windows</strong><br />

2000 systems only.<br />

Recommended Action:<br />

1. Use the Media and Device Management interface New Robot or Change Robot<br />

display to browse <strong>for</strong> robots in the system registry, eliminating the need to manually<br />

specify device paths or device control parameters.<br />

2. Check the operating system registry <strong>for</strong> changer names and their associated SCSI<br />

paths when manually specifying robotic control in<strong>for</strong>mation. Check <strong>for</strong> detailed<br />

errors from the command or user interface output. Ensure that the Removable Storage<br />

service is running. Ensure that the device is present and working properly according<br />

to the Removable Storage administration interface.<br />

Message: Cannot backup/restore global device database files<br />
