Status Codes<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> <strong>4.5</strong> <strong>Troubleshooting</strong> <strong>Guide</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Windows</strong><br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 127<br />

Message: specified media or path does not have a valid NB database backup header<br />

Explanation: The bprecover command was issued and the media ID specified does not<br />

have valid catalog backup data.<br />

Recommended Action: Validate that the correct media ID is being used.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 128<br />

Message: NB database recovery failed, a process has encountered an exceptional<br />

condition<br />

Explanation: One or more catalogs specified <strong>for</strong> recovery could not be restored. For more<br />

detail, refer to the error message issued just above this status code in the output from the<br />

bprecover command.<br />

Recommended Action:<br />

1. After fixing the problem reported in the error message in the bprecover output, refer<br />

to “Recovering the <strong>NetBackup</strong> Catalogs” on page 409 to identify which <strong>NetBackup</strong><br />

services (<strong>Windows</strong>) or daemons (UNIX) should be shut down prior to attempting the<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> database recovery. The <strong>NetBackup</strong> services should be shut down except<br />

<strong>for</strong> the <strong>NetBackup</strong> Client Service, which must be running <strong>for</strong> the database recovery to<br />

succeed.<br />

2. Check the <strong>NetBackup</strong> Problems report <strong>for</strong> additional in<strong>for</strong>mation about the error.<br />

Some possible causes are:<br />

◆ A disk may be full.<br />

◆ The <strong>NetBackup</strong> catalog tape may be corrupt.<br />

<strong>NetBackup</strong> Status Code: 130<br />

Message: system error occurred<br />

Explanation: An error occurred that prevents the product from operating in a consistent<br />

fashion. This error is usually related to a system call.<br />

Recommended Action:<br />

1. Check the <strong>NetBackup</strong> Problems report <strong>for</strong> additional in<strong>for</strong>mation about the error.<br />

2. For detailed troubleshooting in<strong>for</strong>mation, create bpdbm, bpsched, bptm, and bprd<br />

debug log directories on the master server and retry the operation. Check the<br />

resulting debug logs.<br />
