<strong>NetBackup</strong> Directories and Files<br />

Backup and Restore Functional Description<br />

Figure 12 shows the <strong>NetBackup</strong> file and directory structure on UNIX servers and clients.<br />

If a host is only a client and not a server, then only the files in the lower part of Figure 12<br />

are present. If a host is both a client and a server, the client component shares files as<br />

necessary from those in the upper part of Figure 12.<br />

A <strong>Windows</strong> <strong>NetBackup</strong> server has equivalent files and directories that are located in the<br />

directory where <strong>NetBackup</strong> is installed (C:\Program Files\Veritas by default).<br />

Table 5 describes the files and directories that are of special interest.<br />
