outlets, mostly schools. “The variety <strong>of</strong> <strong>soy</strong>bean used to<br />

make this product is popularly known as SJ2. Its <strong>milk</strong> does<br />

not have the unpleasant ‘beany’ aftertaste that <strong>other</strong> beans<br />

grown here have.<br />

“We are developing <strong>soy</strong>a <strong>milk</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>soy</strong>a burger, the latter<br />

using pulp / solid materials left after extracting the <strong>milk</strong>.<br />

Initial market tests are encouraging.”<br />

• Summary: Golden Glow is a br<strong>and</strong> <strong>of</strong> unfl avored <strong>soy</strong><strong>milk</strong><br />

launched in 1989 in Ghaziabad, India, by Amrit Protein<br />

Foods Ltd. This attractive cookbooklet, apparently written<br />

by a person named Tarla Dalal <strong>and</strong> packed with color photos,<br />

contains numerous recipes describing how to use that br<strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>soy</strong><strong>milk</strong> in both Indian-style <strong>and</strong> Western-style dishes. A<br />

photo (p. 2) shows a close-up <strong>of</strong> the Golden Glow package, a<br />

paperboard box which contains 500 ml <strong>of</strong> natural <strong>soy</strong><strong>milk</strong> in<br />

a Prepac Pillow-Pack aseptic package.<br />
