showed during brief sojourn his deep feeling for the dominions of the
Ghurch in the Third World.
We reeeived him with love and he returned it in equal measure.
But Pope Paul belonged to the entire world, for the boundaries of
his concern covered mankind's most urgent problems. He worked for
peace with tireless dedication, and he called the world's attention
repeatedly to the needs of disadvantaged peoples every where. In this
work, he used freely his considerable moral authority.
The whole world, regardless of creed or faith mourns his passing.

It is with deep sense of grief that I have reeeived the sad news of
passing away of His Holiness Pope Paul VI. His Holiness with
whom I had a close and deep acquaintance was a great inspiration in
the world who dedicated his life and efforts to the noble objectives
of service to the poor, social justice and world peace. Therë is no
doubt that His Holiness' memory will be cherished by the world com­
munity for a long time to come. On behalf of myself, my Government
and people I extend my sincerest condolences. May he rest in peace.
