I was deeply distressed by the sad news of the sudden death of
His Holiness the late Pope John Paul I. While expressing in my name
a>nd on behalf of the Egyptian people my most sincere condolences and
sympathy for the deceased, we note with appréciation his dévotion for
the principies of right, justice and peace in the whole world as well as
fervent keenness to deepen the moráis of human love and compassion.
May God Almighty bestow his grâce upon the deceased and endow
you with patience and solace.
