The World Alliance of Reformed Churches mourns with you the
passing of His Holiness Pope John Paul and expresses gratitude to
God for his life and ministry. I have asked the Rev. Richmond Smith
to represent the Reformed Alliance at the funeral of His Holiness.
We pray for divine guidance as you gather together to choose his
successor to he the spiritual leader of the faithful.

As one of the Présidents of the World Methodist Council and as
chairman of its ecumenical committee and co-chairman of the Roman
Catholic/Methodist bilaterals, I send you my sympathy and my love
at this time of bereavement over the death of Pope John Paul I.
Methodist people from ali over the world join in pray er for our Roman
Catholic brethren. We thank God for the exemplary life of the Pope
and we pray for the College of Cardinais in the sélection of his successor.

of Jesus are ". With deepest sympathy we share the untimely loss to
the whole world in the death of Pope John Paul I. With trust iri God's
