• How would you describe the military-political situation at the beginning of
1995?
„Already in the beginning of 1994 the Bosnian Muslim Army (ABiH) had enough
weapons - artillery as well as Infantry-weapons - except tanks to challenge the
Bosnian-Serb Forces - but Bosnia is not an area to operate with tanks anyway.
The Croatian Army HV already in the end of 1991 had enough - also heavy -
weapons to be equal to the Serbian Forces in Croatia. Also Croatia had permanently
stationed forces in Bosnia from 1992-1995. This fact was well known by the
international community and was only legalized with the agreement of Split in July
1995.“
• How was the VRS working in 1995?
„In 1995 the fighting morale of the Army of the Republika Srpska was going down
rapidly, especially because of the results of the Yugoslavian blockade - the logistic
support from Yugoslavia had disappeared.
The US had gave massive military and logistical support and Know How to the
Croatian Army. That is why the HV suceeded in the reoccupation of the Krajina in
August 1995. For the Serbs now a new front of 150 kilometers had been opened.
The Serbian lines were already overstrechted then and so they did not have enough
soldiers to close this new whole in their front anyway.“
• How big were the effects of the NATO-bombardement on the Bosnian
Serbs?
„The aim of NATO was to weaken the Bosnian Serbs by military force to make them
reduce their territory to the before fixed 49 percent. The NATO-bombardement was
the way to give the Croatian and Bosnian Army the possibility to move out of the
Croatian Krajina forward towards Banja Luka in August and September. When their
political aim was reached the US ordered the Muslims and the Croats to stop their
