were projected to grow the most. Oil nonetheless remains the single largest fuel<br />

in the primary fuel mix in 2030, though its share drops, from 35% now to 33%.<br />

Coal remains the second-largest fuel, with its share increasing one percentage<br />

point to 26%. Gas demand grows faster than coal, but – in contrast to WEO-<br />

2005 – does not overtake it before 2030. The growth in demand for gas has<br />
