Peking University, Beijing, June 30th, 2004: A 12-person team from the Profession
Development Research Association of Peking University started their summer
survey and study for Olympics on the morning of June 26th.
The members of the association did questionnaire work in Tsinghua University,
Renmin University of China, and some students even had a discussion with the team
members about the problem mentioned in the questionnaires. In order to ensure the
efficaciousness of the questionnaires, they also made sure that all the
questionnaires have been filled in proportion by students of different sexes, ages and
majors.
This team was founded on April 28th, composed of 23 members from a variety of
departments. With ―Beijing Olympics development and career planning of youth
student‖ as their research topic, the investigation team studied the level of
understanding and expectation of students from three key universities (Peking
University, Tsinghua University and Renmin University of China) about the
governmental planning and policy during the preparatory period of Beijing Olympic
Games. The result of the survey and study will be offered up to the government and
relevant sections.
During the preparation period of half a month, some members of the team also
contacted the sections relevant to Olympic Organization Committee and had active
and effective communications with them, focusing on the research topic. The team
took plenty consideration of the suggestions given by relevant sections and experts
when designing the questionnaire, giving full attention to relevant information of
planning and policy. The questionnaire is intentionally designed to lead young
people in making contribution to Olympic Games and serving the people. There were
other problems that were given attention to under the main topic, such as, to what
