Peking University, Mar 30th, 2004:Successful running of 2004 Spring Class of
Network Education of Peking University attracts broad attention with the coming of
Higher Education Entrance Examination. Could network really help to realize the
students‘ dream to get into PKU? Reporter had an interview with Cai Run, the
principal of network education of PKU.
Cai told reporter, PKU started on-line education and distance education in the fall of
2001. The aim is to extend PKU on the base of all-around copy of PKU with the
advanced technology of Internet. The tenet of network education is called BLUE, i.e.
spread education and culture of Beida; lead moral of Lifelong learning; promote
Universal education and provide handy E-learning.
Law School of PKU first co-operated with Beida Online, coming up with the
requirement of judiciary to promote acquirement of all staff. At present, Beida Online
has set up 5 majors and have collaborations with College of Economics, Department
of Political Science & Public Administration, Department of Psychology and
Department of Sociology, etc.
Cai said, the impulsion of network education brought to PKU is the opening and
equality. Students, whoever he or she is, could have a platform to communicate and
learn.
