of Health Science Center Selected as
National Key Training Discipline

Peking University, Beijing, Dec. 12, 2007: Child, Adolescent and Women's Health of
School of Public Health in Health Science Center of PKU has been selected as one
of the approved national key training disciplines, which is promulgated by Ministry of
Education these days.
The national key training disciplines are important complementarities of the national
key disciplines. The Ministry of Education has decided to select a number of
higher-level disciplines in the declared national key disciplines as training objects
and give them more supports in order to promote and bring along the construction of
disciplines in universities and colleges, and improve the disciplines‘ structure and
overall arrangement. In the meantime, they want to establish a high level discipline
system which could accommodate the improvement of an innovative nation
comprehensively and meet the demands for talent and knowledge in national and
regional development.
The national key training disciplines will be constructed and managed by Interim
Procedures of National key Disciplines‘ Construction and Management, and the
discipline development plans are being conducted presently.
