PKU Sings Forest Song for a
Low-carbon Campus

Forest Song of PKU
Peking University, Beijing, Mar. 25, 2010: Since Mar. 15, over 300 student
associations of PKU have joined the campaign for recruiting members in the new
semester. Every time walking through the Triangle, the ―battlefront‖ of recruitment,
passers-by used to be stuffed with copies of leaflets. While it is difficult to quantify its
effectiveness, the regular glimpse-and-throw way of advertising turns out
environmentally unfriendly.
But this time, something special emerged. At one end of the battlefront of the
campaign, a big box for recycling leaflets stood out. It was the leaflets recycling
activity initiated by Beida Linge, or ―Forest Song of PKU‖ program.
Endorsed by other student associations, the recycling activity was carried out
successfully, with praises from both students and faculties of the university. ―A huge
amount of leaflets are distributed during the recruitment campaign, and many of
