‘06 Campus Planning Competition –
Collecting Plans of Re-using Beixin Site

Peking University, Beijing, March 22nd, 2006:The 06‘ Campus Planning Competition
of the PKU started on March 18th. The competition, mainly sponsored by the PKU
Office of Planning and Designing and co-sponsored by the City Planning Department
of the Environmental Sciences College as well as the PKU Student Union and the
PKU City and Architecture Society, will collect plans of re-using the original site of
Beixin from all the students and faculties of the university with prizes-awarding.
With the theme ―planning your ideal PKU and designing a beautiful campus---the
prize-awarding collection of plans of re-using the original site of Beixin‖, the activity is
expected to last for over a month, including five stages, i.e. publicizing, registering on
line, submitting plans, collecting and evaluating. The winners of the competition will
be rewarded with prizes.
The competition doesn‘t require particular knowledge about architecture and
designing, but calls on all the students and faculties of various backgrounds to join
in. Participants can register individually or collectively ( no more than three people in
a group) from March 18th to March 25th. The scoring process consists of two
parts---voting on line and judging by specialists and experts. A campus-wide activity
of on line evaluation will be conducted early April.
