Madison Visits Peking University

Peking University, Beijing, May 28, 2007: The delegation of University of Wisconsin
Madison of America led by the President John D. Wiley visited Peking University on
the morning of May 24th. Xu Zhihong, the President of Peking University, met the
guests in Linhuxuan, and they exchanged their ideas about further cooperation
between the two universities.
President Xu introduced the education, scientific research and international
communication of Peking University to the guests, and he hoped that Peking
University and University of Wisconsin Madison could have more opportunities to
communicate and cooperate. President John D. Wiley said, University of Wisconsin
Madison had kept a friendly cooperating relationship with Research Center of
Economy of Peking University for many years, and this visit was to expand the
intercommunion subjects and fields, and attract more students of Peking University
to study and do research in University of Wisconsin. The delegation delivered their
will of cooperating with School of Life Sciences, School of Earth and Space
Sciences, Department of Chinese Language & Literature and College of
Environment Sciences.
After the meeting, some members of the delegation discussed with the deputies of
Department of Philosophy & Religious Studies, College of Environment Sciences,
and Guang Hua School of Management about the probability of setting up more
research and intercommunion programs.
