Peking University, Beijing, Mar. 25th, 2006: The Top Ten Singers Contest of PKU,
held once a year, will be put on stage on March, 25th this year. The tickets will be
distributed at noon, on March 24th. There was already a long queue waiting before
the Tickets Centre when the journalist arrived.
Starting from the office of the Students' Union, extending north around the 27
Building and with its tail at the south entrance of Nongyuan Eatery, the queue was
over 200 meters long. What makes the contest so attracting? The journalist randomly
interviewed a few students in the queue. They all said that the contest had already
become a grand on-campus music ceremony and it must be wonderful. Some
students expressed their expectation to meet the first class on-campus singers at
PKU and still some said that they might participate in the contest in the future.
As is introduced by the officers in the Students' Union, the tickets to be distributed
now would meet the need of most students in queue. The journalist also noticed that,
there were some singers of the contest standing in the line, trying to get tickets for
their friends. Though the queue was long, everything was going on in order, free from
any disturbance. Until the end of the tickets-giving out at 1:30 pm., there were still
over 50 students leaving without tickets.
