PKU Students Celebrating Successful
Launching of Shenzhou VI

On the morning of October, 12th, a cheer burst out in the dorm of PKU students from
school of earth and space sciences. However, it is not because of Yao Ming‘s
excellent performance, but because the successful launching of Shenzhou VI
spacecraft.
Students who major in space sciences and technology looked quite excited since the
launching, which means another breakthrough in China‘s technology in space
sciences, and they were proud of the result.
Feng Xiang got up early and watched the whole launching process through the
Internet. When Mr. Chen Bingde, the general director of China‘s manned space
mission announced the success, he said to others around: ―Our major (space
sciences and technology) is quite promising.‖
While the whole dorm was immersed in an atmosphere of excitement, Ma Yonghui
seemed quite calm. ―This is only the first step we have achieved; there will be a long
way to go before our final goal has been reached.‖
Wang Renzhong, another student from the space sciences and technology major,
would rather consider this launch as a good chance to study. ―The reason why I pay
attention to the whole process is it has something to do with my major. In the near
future, we will study the relative knowledge of satellites, space crafts, and space
exploration and so on.‖
Cheng Sheng was highly motivated. ―I love my major and want to accomplish some
achievements. I think if in the future I become the general director, or one of the core
scientists who are engaged in the research of the ―Shenzhou Ⅸ and Ⅹ‖. How
excited!‖
Patriotism arose as the launching was successfully completed. ―I think the reason
why we focus so much on Shenzhou VI spacecraft is clear: We are Chinese and we
love our motherland and we are proud of our country‘s success.‖ Said Shi Hao.
