PKU Volunteers Done Good Job in
National Stadium Track and Field Test

Peking University, Beijing, May. 27th, 2008: ‗Good Luck Beijing‘ track and field test
event officially came to an end in the National Stadium. It was of great significance
as the last in-venue test event before the Beijing Olympic Games, the first
large-scale event after the earthquake in Sichuan, as well as the event at the first day
after the national mourning day.
There are 1,505 volunteers, from 30 colleges of Peking University, which was in a
charge of general volunteers‘ work for National Stadium, participating in the 14
services, including audience services, technique, transportation, media operation,
doping control, language services, registration, venue management, award
ceremony, environment, landscape image, personnel and volunteers. They won
highly acclaim from the athletes from different countries, and positive comments
organizing committee and venue team for their four-day hard work.
The leaders of PKU gave high degree of attention and support to the voluntary
service. Zhang Yan, deputy secretary of PKU came to the National Stadium to visit
the volunteers on May 25.
The opening and closing ceremonies, track and field events and men‘s soccer finals
would be held in the National Stadium, which was the main venue of the Beijing
Olympics and Paralympics, from August to September this year, and the volunteers
from PKU would participate in the service then.
